2025 Palatine Pack Summer Programs

Palatine Pack TFCC Club

The TFCC competition club offers track and field training and coaching for incoming 5th through incoming 12th graders and cross country training for incoming 5th-8th graders. The club focuses on teaching the fundamentals of training and competition.

Events Offered: Cross country (1.5-3 miles), Distance (800, 1600), Sprints (100, 200, 400), Hurdles, Relays, High Jump, Long Jump, Triple Jump, Shot Put, Discus

Coaches: Palatine Pack co-founder Alex Soto plus event coaches Lori Gonzalez, Corey Rinella, Dana Miroballi, Emilee Baldwin, Byron Wright, Alec Bollman, Billy Matzek, and others

Location: Palatine High School track

Days: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday

Dates/Times: June 9 - July 19, 6:00 - 7:30 pm

Age Groups: Our distance group is open to incoming 5th grade-incoming 8th graderrs. Our sprint/jumps and throws group is open to incoming 5th graders- Incoming 12th graders.

Levels: Beginner, Intermediate and Experienced for middle school and high school athletes. All athletes will learn to train and compete regardless of prior training or skill.

Cost: $275 for new athletes, $225 for returning athletes. No athletes will be turned away due to inability to pay. Please contact Alex Soto (sotoxc@gmail.com) to discuss discounted entry.

Benefits: Registration for this club includes a full schedule of summer meets in the northwest suburbs.

REGISTRATION

Youth Track and Field Camp

Focused on beginning fundamentals of track and field for kids aged 6-10 years old. Participants try the many different track and field events while learning basic skills of the sport. Events include sprints, hurdles, long jump, high jump, and shot put. Game play is also included in each session.

Coaches: Palatine Pack co-founder Alex Soto and Joe Ahlgrim plus high school volunteers

Location: Palatine High School track

Days: Monday and Wednesday

Dates/Times: June 2 - July 9, 4:30 - 5:45 pm

Level: Beginner and Intermediate for grade school participants.

Cost: $100

Benefits: Participation in local Palatine Pack track and field/cross country meets is included with registration.

REGISTRATION

Palatine Pack Run Club

Focused on endurance and sprint training for younger runners aged 8-13 years old. Runners build endurance through road runs, sprint skills through interval workouts, and fun through game play. Run Club develops age appropriate fundamentals for athletes ranging from Beginner to Intermediate age group runners.

Coaches: Abril Malagon, Joe Ahlgrim, and student coaches and volunteers

Location: Hamilton Reservoir (Tues, Thurs), Ost Field (Fri)

Days: Tuesday, Thursday and Friday

Dates/Times: June 16 - July 25, 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM

Level: Beginner and Intermediate for grade school and middle school participants.

Cost: $125

Benefits: Participation in local Palatine Pack track and field/cross country meets is included with registration.

REGISTRATION

Palatine Pack Pole Vault Club

Focused on all levels of pole vaulter from Beginner to Experienced. The main intent is to give athletes time on the runway in a more relaxed environment than during in-season practices or competition. Aimed at middle school and high school athletes.

Coach: Palatine coach Ricky Ruano

Location: Palatine High School Track (Mon and Wed)

Dates/Times: June 9 - July 16, 6:00 - 7:30 PM

Level: Beginner, Intermediate, and Expert for grade school, middle school, and high school athletes

Cost: $125

Benefits: Participation in local Palatine Pack track and field meets is included with registration.

Note: Limited pole vault poles available. If you can bring your own poles it is suggested.  They can be stored at Palatine High School for duration of camp. Athletes enrolled in Palatine Pack TFCC club can practice with vault club as part of their registration.

Prospective Meet Dates

In partnership with Palatine Pack Timing, Palatine Pack TFCC hosts a series of meets in the northwest suburbs of Chicago. The competition season culminates with the Midwest Track and Field Club championships. Our tentative schedule (with track rentals TBD):

  • Wednesday, June 18 - Palatine Pack Early Summer Meet @ Fremd High School

  • Tuesday, July 8 - Palatine Pack “No Frills” Cross Country @ Deer Grove East

  • Thurs, July 10 - Palatine Pack Community Track and Field Meet #3 @ Palatine High School

  • Friday and Saturday, July 18-19 - Midwest Track and Field Club Championships @ Palatine High School

Find Your Level

Beginner - Beginners have never tried cross country or track and field. They are often new to sports and looking to gain basic skills. Coaching focuses on relaxed introduction to many different track and field events or basic jogging and fitness.

Intermediate - Intermediates have some experience with training or competing either in cross country/track and field or other sports. They possess basic skills of the sport, but are looking to gain experience, ability, and fitness.

Experienced - Experienced participants have previous competition experience or training in specific event skills. They may possess elite goals in either cross country/track and field or be training for road racing from the 5K to the marathon.
